The National Motorsports Appeals Committee has upheld a penalty imposed on the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford driven by Zane Smith after Friday night’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Smith initially finished in second place, but was relegated to last place after post-race inspection revealed the truck did not meet NASCAR rulebook specifications under the following rules: 14.16 .1: wheel assembly 1-4 wheel nuts.
Hearing panelists were: Mr. Dixon Johnston, Ms. Cathy Rice and Mr. Lake Speed. As this is a race disqualification appeal, the panelists’ decision is final and Front Row Motorsports has no opportunity to appeal the decision to the Final Appeals Office.

Hard pill to swallow for my team. From a supply issue with legal lug nuts that will get you a DQ after coming from behind twice to finish 2nd and not getting credit for it, sucks. Nothing will feel better than getting a win @amupdates next week. Focus on the front 👊🏼 pic.twitter.com/roTzcdgnwU
