Trail Blazers receive huge news on Shaedon Sharpe’s injury status

Shaedon Sharpe’s rookie season with the Portland Trail Blazers got off to a bad start during the Las Vegas Summer League. The 7th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft was pulled from his opener with an apparent injury. Shortly after, it was announced that he would be sidelined for the rest of the games due to a shoulder injury.

Fans were immediately concerned about Sharpe’s status going forward. Thankfully, the Blazers got a good update on their prized rookie’s injury status. Much to the delight of fans, Shaedon Sharpe will NOT be undergoing surgery for his shoulder injury. (by Sean Highkin)

This is great news for Blazers fans. Sharpe was likely to see significant minutes next season playing behind Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons. If he went under the knife, the rookie could miss valuable time learning the ropes of the NBA game. With this news, Blazers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Shaedon Sharpe was selected by the Blazers with the 7th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The rookie guard showed promise playing on the high school stage. His excellent performance at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball Camp sent his stock skyrocketing. However, his lack of experience in the collegiate ranks made him a huge question mark entering the draft.

The Blazers are taking a calculated risk in Sharpe. Will this decision pay off for them in the short and long term? Let’s hope Sharpe makes a full recovery and shows off her skills on the biggest stage.
