“El Greco is a choice. It’s fun for me because there’s a certain tension in there, with throwing someone or being thrown. That’s why I love it. Just a different style.

Ross won the national freestyle and greco titles in Las Vegas last May at the USMC United States Open Wrestling Championships in the 15U division. Last summer, he swept both groups at the USA Wrestling Kids Nationals in Wisconsin.

Fellers finished third in the 132-pound 16U Greco-Roman bracket at the Fargo Nationals with a 7-1 overall record. The momentum continued in this event, as Fellers went 2-0 and advanced on the USAW tiebreaker rule.

Fellers pinned Stiffler, a South Carolina high school state champion and U15 Greco-Roman national champion.

“I am extremely proud of this achievement. It will be an honor to represent the United States,” Fellers said. “That has been my #1 goal for the past 12 months, which makes it even more rewarding.

“My Greco skills are quite good, as I am comfortable and effective in many of the often-struggled positions in Greco. I also use many Greco skills, like hooks and 2 on 1 in the other two styles (folkstyle and freestyle).

Team members in each weight class will compete at the Freestyle and Greco-Roman levels at the 2022 Pan Am U15 Championships.
