and the Las Vegas Monorail announce a unique partnership for what is sure to become a landmark event on the Las Vegas entertainment scene. In addition to special multi-day Monorail ticket prices during the Rock in Rio event in May, the partnership includes a signature train that is already running on Las Vegas tracks.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer special ticket prices and a more flexible schedule to everyone attending Rock in Rio in Las Vegas. We want to make sure getting in and out of the venue is a very simple process and that’s why the monorail is so convenient. And to increase the excitement, we wrapped one of the trains,” said Roberta Medina, Vice President of Rock in Río.

Rock in Rio will make Las Vegas its first home in the United States for two weekends, May 8-9 and May 15-16, 2015. The 40+ acre City of Rock site is located at the corner of Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas. Boulevard, on the famous Las Vegas Strip and will include a Ferris wheel, a 640-foot high zipline, a VIP area that can accommodate up to 4,000 people and three Rock Streets showcasing the eclectic cultures of the United States, UK and Brazil. for both weekends include Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Metallica, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, No Doubt, John Legend, Maná, among others.

The special cooperation between Rock in Rio and the Las Vegas Monorail will allow festival-goers to enjoy the many artists and festivities planned during the event. An estimated 15-20% of attendees are expected to use the monorail via its SLS station, just across from Rock City.

The monorail will implement a special schedule to maximize capacity and reduce wait times for Rock in Rio USA attendees. Monorail trains run daily from 7:00 a.m. until at least 3:00 a.m. on festival days. Doors to The City of Rock will open at 3 p.m. and close at 1:30 a.m.

Monorail tickets can be purchased in advance to or in person at the Las Vegas Monorail Customer Service Counters (open daily 10am-6pm) located at the following seven stations: MGM Grand, Bally’s/Paris, Flamingo, Harrah’s/The LINQ, Las Vegas Convention Center , Westgate, & SLS Las Vegas.
