Las Vegas Valley’s WSKY Tavern Serves Addictive Bar Food

Discover the next generation of addictive bar bites. Potato skins are piled high with juicy, smoky pulled pork ($8). Thick, crispy bacon strips are baked with bourbon and brown sugar and served with chipotle honey for dipping ($9). And the piece de resistance of this appetizer menu might be the WSKY poppers ($9), a squadron of crispy, cheese-stuffed fried peppers topped with salty bacon jam and chipotle “yum-yum sauce.” addictive.

WSKY is the latest tavern concept from the folks at Terrible’s, the Las Vegas-based gas station company that’s expanded into gaming and other businesses. It also operates the Ridge, Skye and Rocky bar and grill concepts, spread throughout the Vegas Valley, as well as Millside Tavern north of Las Vegas and two WSKY spots now that the Henderson location has opened in Inspirada.

WSKY’s atmosphere is what you’d expect from your neighborhood tavern, with a bit of industrial chic thrown in for good measure. Happy hour runs from 4-7 p.m. daily with half-price beer, wine, and specialty cocktails, plus many of those delicious apps for $7. And the place is stacked with its namesake spirit, serving up a huge selection of whiskey, bourbon, and Scotch, including organized flights for $17 to $25.

But comfort and convenience wouldn’t mean much without good food. When you’re ready to move beyond happy hour snacks, check out classic breakfast items, including steak and eggs ($15) and cookies and gravy ($9), and sandwich options running the gamut from a sourdough grilled cheese ($12) with tomato soup and some of that magic bacon, to Cuban Ruben ($15), topped with roast pork, corned beef, of ham, provolone, pickles and sauerkraut with mustard. WSKY also does pizza, fish and chips, and chicken pot pie, hitting all the highs, including Drunken Cobbler with bourbon-soaked peaches and cinnamon crumble ($8).

Hoping they open one in your neighborhood soon.
