Las Vegas Monorail will run 44 hours straight from New Years Eve


LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Las Vegas monorail will run continuously for 44 straight hours as revelers ring the bell at the start of the New Year.

It will operate from 7 a.m. on Friday, December 31 to 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 2. The monorail will be the only motorized transportation available on the Las Vegas Strip for New Years Eve.

“Much like the world famous New Years Eve celebrations in Las Vegas, the nonstop Monorail service during the Strip closure is an annual tradition that we are excited to bring back this year… It is our pleasure to provide public transportation. safe, efficient and cost effective. along the Strip during the most exciting weekend of the year for the destination, ”said Ingrid Reisman, vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

With proof of Nevada ID, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Dec. 31. State users can obtain discounted $ 1 one-way tickets in person at customer service kiosks at all stations except the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Non-Nevada residents can purchase $ 5 one-way tickets at customer service counters in person and online.

Unlimited passes are available starting at $ 13 for 24 hours, two days, three days and more. Visitors who stay on weekends can save $ 3 off a 3-day unlimited pass by purchasing tickets in advance through December 30.

COVID-19 and other security protocols will remain in place on the monorail:

  • Face masks are mandatory at all times throughout the system
  • Social distancing should be maintained wherever possible
  • Strollers, backpacks or glass bottles are not allowed
