Las Vegas Monorail to Stay Open for 43 Hours During New Years Vacation | Local
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – New Year’s revelers partying on the Las Vegas Strip will have access to transportation via the Las Vegas monorail.
The Las Vegas Monorail will be the only motorized form of transportation along the Las Vegas Strip for New Years Eve, according to a press release. It will run continuously from 7 a.m. on December 31 to 2 a.m. on January 2, for a total of 43 consecutive hours.

Locals can purchase one-way tickets for $ 1 at customer service counters at every station, except the Las Vegas Convention Center, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Dec. 31 with Nevada ID, according to the communicated. Out-of-town customers can purchase regular-priced one-way tickets for $ 5 or unlimited passes starting at $ 13. Regular tickets and multi-trip tickets can also be purchased at customer service counters or in advance at lvmonorail.com. The Las Vegas Strip closes to traffic around 5:45 p.m. on New Years Eve each year and reopens around 4:00 a.m. on New Years Day. Last year, more than 300,000 people gathered on the Strip. Las Vegas, according to the press release.
The monorail has five stations along the Strip: MGM Grand; Bally’s / Paris Las Vegas; Flamingo / Cesar Palace; Harrah’s / The LINQ and SAHARA Las Vegas; the other stations are at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Westgate Resort & Casino.
