Las Vegas Monorail to Run 44 Straight Hours for NYE, Offers $ 1 Rides | News


LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – The Las Vegas monorail will operate for 44 straight hours during the New Years holidays.

It will operate continuously from 7 a.m. on Friday, December 31 through Saturday, January 1, 2022, until 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Locals can purchase $ 1 one-way tickets at all stations except the Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on December 31 with a Nevada ID card. The monorail will regularly be priced at $ 5 each way for tourists.

“Visitors who plan to stay for the weekend can save $ 3 off a 3-day unlimited pass by purchasing tickets in advance through December 30,” they said in a press release. More information can be found here.

LVCVA reminded riders of certain requirements:

  • Face masks are mandatory at all times throughout the system
  • Customers are encouraged to maintain social distancing where possible
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at each monorail station
  • No strollers, rucksacks or glass bottles will be allowed

The monorail has five stations along the Las Vegas Strip: MGM Grand; Bally’s / Paris Las Vegas; Flamingo / Cesar Palace; Harrah’s / The LINQ and SAHARA Las Vegas.
