Google Pay now lets you buy mobile tickets for the Las Vegas Monorail

Google Pay is looking for ways to become more relevant and convenient for its current and potential users who will want to choose it as their default mobile payment gateway. One way is to make life easier for commuters and now they’re starting by letting you buy mobile tickets for the Las Vegas Monorail. Now you’ll be able to buy your tickets online and store them on your Google Pay app to navigate your Las Vegas commute faster.

The Las Vegas Monoroil is Google Pay’s first transit agency and probably won’t be the last where you can use prepaid tickets on your smartphone. All you need to do is install the Google Pay app if you haven’t already, then buy your ticket on the Las Vegas Monorail website. Save the ticket in your app and the next time you board the train, just hold your phone close to the gate and when you see the tick you can enter and board the train.

The handy thing about this, besides not having to wait in line to get your ticket, is that you don’t even have to open your Google Pay app just to be able to access your ticket. You’ll also find information in the app to guide you through your trip and also see recent transactions you’ve made and where the nearest station is.

If you already have Google Pay, make sure you have the latest version installed to use this new feature. We can’t wait to see what other transit agencies they will work with next.
