Driver Arrested for Suspected Drunk Driving After Fatal Crash in Charleston, Lamb | New

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – One person has died and two were injured in a crash involving two vehicles early Monday morning.

One of the drivers involved in the crash has been arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, police said.

The accident took place at 2:03 am on September 27 on Charleston Boulevard and Lamb Boulevard. A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were taken to area hospitals with serious and critical injuries. A 22-year-old man has died after being taken to Sunrise Hospital, police said.

Police said a vehicle with a 20-year-old driver was heading west on Charleston Boulevard as it approached Lamb Boulevard. At the same time, another vehicle with the 22-year-old driver and the 21-year-old passenger was heading south on Lamb Boulevard towards the intersection. The southbound vehicle entered the intersection on a yellow signal while the westbound vehicle entered against a red signal, which led to the collision, police said.

The 20-year-old driver and the 21-year-old passenger were transported to the university medical center.

The 20-year-old driver was arrested for impaired driving, police said. Police identified the driver as Zualaga Gonzalez from Las Vegas.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the 22-year-old driver as Francisco Larco-Moya from Las Vegas.

The death of the driver of the southbound vehicle marks the 103rd traffic-related fatality for LVMPD in 2021. The collision is still under investigation.

The intersection was closed because LVMPD Fatal Detail and investigators responded.

At around 9:30 a.m., the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission posted on Twitter that the intersection had reopened.
