Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak bring Silk Sonic to the Las Vegas Strip

Bto run March was set to revisit its production at Dolby Live in 2022. It does that, and more, with an all-new show, igniting the funk with Sonic Silk and partner Anderson Paak.

“An Evening with Silk Sonic” takes over the old Park Theater from February 25-26, continuing for select dates from March 2-31 and again on April 2. Although more dates are planned this year, the shows are billed as an extension engagement and not a residency (these descriptions of superstar engagements are generally the responsibility of the artists themselves).

On Twitter, Mars called the show “The sexiest party of the year!”

Without expressly applying this vernacular, the international vice president of entertainment at MGM Resorts Chris Baldizan said the company was expanding its promotion of the show across the station.

“We’re excited for Silk Sonic’s upcoming shows and the energy this talented, Grammy-nominated duo will bring to the stage,” Baldizan said in a statement, indirectly referencing the upcoming Grammy Awards television broadcast scheduled for Saturday. April 3 at the MGM Grand. Garden. “We are honored that Bruno Mars has made Dolby Live his home for the past five years and look forward to this new entertainment experience that he and Anderson .Paak will create for their fans. We’re working on some really fun plans for the resort so we can all take a little time travel back to the 70s.”

Tickets start at $125 (no charge) and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com. Ticket holders will need to pack their phones or leave them behind and adhere to the state’s indoor mask mandate, but are not required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status.

Independently, Mars has been headlining Park MGM since December 2016. He and Bailiff performed from the Dolby Live stage on December 30, with Mars announcing that evening that Usher will also perform a series at Park MGM. Expect the new production to launch this summer. Usher wrapped up his lavishly produced and well-received series at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on New Year’s Day.

Recurring Dolby Live headliners such as Lady Gaga, Aerosmith and Dear have not announced dates for 2022 but are expected to return. Comic Kat Williams (Friday and Saturday), country superstar Garth Brooks (February 4-5) are booked, but the theater program from May to the end of the year is still open.

Silk Sonic released “Leave the Door Open” nearly a year after the act’s premiere date on the Strip. The song spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 18 weeks in the top 10. The video for the song, directed by Mars and Florent Dechardwon Best R&B Video and Best Editing at the 2021 MTV Music Video Awards.

The release was followed by the #LetSilkSonicThrive social media campaign, which earned the duo their first live performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards show. The performance was also fueled by a tribute to the late Little Richard.

The shows will focus on Silk Sonic releases, but with only one album to choose from, expect more selections from both artists. We’re planning a cover of the joyful “I Took Your Phones Away”, an underground single from Mars. Listen to it only in Dolby Live.

Rivera’s “Fantasy” Promotion

We have long said that Mariah Rivera is someone to watch on the entertainment scene. The actor and entrepreneur of “Fantasy” in Luxor has been promoted to co-producer of the show. Rivera joins beverly janethe original co-producer of the production, working with the creator, producer and director Anita Mann.

It’s a big move, fraught with new responsibilities, as Rivera will lead the show’s social media planning and cast appearances; supervise the entire range of “Fancy” products; and also continues to perform nightly in the topless revue.

“Mariah makes immeasurable contributions to the ‘Fantasy’ family. Not just in her tremendous work ethic, but in the way she inspires and motivates the entire cast and crew,” Mann said in a statement. “It is my sincere honor to promote and reward his hard work and leadership, which has been instrumental in our continued success.”

Rivera is looking forward to a career in entertainment beyond performance. I would bet on it.
