6 new trains will arrive on Monday to be installed on the Monorail line in the New Administrative Capital
Egypt installs the first monorail train on the Eastern Nile route
CAIRO – June 6, 2022: Six new trains will arrive on Monday for installation on the New Administrative Capital Monorail line, while the seventh train is expected to arrive on Wednesday.
This is part of a total of 40 trains to be installed for the Eastern Nile Monorail project, while manufacturing of the rest of the fleet of mobile units for the project is underway.
The rest of the trains in the fleet will arrive successively according to the scheduled schedule.
Work is in full swing to complete the implementation of the project according to schedule, as this project is considered one of the public transport that will serve the new republic, the foundations of which were laid by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi .
The project will connect the Greater Cairo area with the new eastern urban areas and towns (New Cairo – the administrative capital) and help facilitate the movement of employees and expatriates from Cairo and Giza to New Cairo and the administrative capital. .
It is also planned that the project will be integrated with the third metro line at Nasr City stadium station and the electric train at the City of Arts and Culture station in the administrative capital.
The monorail project is being implemented in Egypt for the first time and will represent a great cultural shift in mass transportation, as it is fast, modern, safe and environmentally friendly, saves fuel consumption, lowers rates environmental pollution, reduce traffic jams on main roads and streets and attract passengers.
The Ministry of Transport has released images of the process of implementing a number of monorail stations in the new administrative capital, which is 56.5 km long. The number of monorail stations is 22.
