1 dead, 13 injured in Las Vegas hookah lounge shooting | News from the United States and the world

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — One person died and 13 others were injured early Saturday morning in a shooting at a hookah lounge just east of the Las Vegas Strip. At approximately 3:15 a.m. on February 26, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were called to the 900 block of East Sahara Avenue near Las Vegas Boulevard to report gunshots.

According to Captain Dori Koren of the LVMPD, an adult male died from his injuries. Two victims are in critical condition and each of the injured has been taken to UMC and Sunrise hospitals. All are believed to be adults, police said.

Police worked to support victims by applying tourniquets to the injured and administering CPR.

Dillon Ancheta, a reporter for Hawaii News Now, a sister station to FOX5, reported seeing multiple patrols, firefighters and medical units responding to the scene before 4 a.m. A suspect or suspects are still outstanding. The investigation is ongoing.
